Gerard Pique, a Barcelona defender, announced his retirement on Thursday after an amazing career, saying, 'the moment has come to conclude this trip.'

The defender met spectacular 'Waka Waka' singer Shakira at the showpiece event in South Africa, and their romance bloomed from there.
The Colombian singer also performed the national hymn at the 2010 World Cup closing ceremony, after which Spain defeated the Netherlands 1-0.
Pique announced his retirement with a video clip of himself as a tiny boy wearing the Catalan club's jersey or chasing great legends for signatures.
"I wanted to let you know that I've decided it's time to call it quits on this adventure.
